The Oregon Vortex

If you heard about this, then you know more than me, cause I never heard about this until today when my dad told me he seen it on the Travel Channel.

It's called the Oregon Vortex, and it's got some very odd phenomena going on there to say the least.

You can lay a ball on the ground there, and it'll roll uphill by itself... you can push a pendulum one way and it'll swing, but you can push it the other way and it won't do anything.... just odd stuff.

Go to the site and read up about it, though they don't have much there. They do have this picture though. I'll post it with the description like it is on the site. You COULD just go to the site to see it, but why can't I just show you here? lol

"This is one of the phenomena that occurs at the The Oregon Vortex. You can actually see and take pictures of the change in height, as is shown below. When you have the pictures developed you can even measure the difference in height on the pictures.

However, whatever instrument you use to measure with while inside the affected area you will always measure to be the same height because the instrument of measurement will change in size right along with you. So don't forget your still camera!"

I had read about this place once before several years ago and it always seemed so cool! I think I seen the same show on it that your dad did, Matt! I would love to get out there sometimes! If you look back several hundred years you will see that this was once rumored to have been sacred grounds for indians in that area, as they would not enter past a certain point.

There is one in south dakota. my sister and i went to the black hills and came across it.

Yeah Thea, it says on that site that the Indians called it the Forbidden Ground or something, cause their horses wouldn't go there.

And my dad told me yesterday that after he first told me about this place that he remembered there are tons of them all over the earth. So it's possible for there to be one in SD.

Also, my mom told me about a place in northern Ohio called the Enchanted Forest that is like this place. She also said right next to it is this place called the Blue Hole. Apparently, it's about 20 feet around and it's just a hole in the ground filled with blue water. But nobody's found a bottom to it. They sent scuba guys down into it and they couldn't find the bottom. Skeery....

Yeah, pretty coolness. I'd love to go, but I can't find it anywhere on the www, but I do have a good idea of where it's at. If I can find it, I'm definately going.

Ok, let's plan it then. I know abouts where it is, just not sure where exactly it is. But the town it's in isn't that big, so I'm sure they got signs everywhere for it, or someone there should know where it's at.

It's about 4-5 hours north of me in northeast Ohio around Sandusky. Let me know when you wanna go and we'll plan a time. Spring would probably be best since it's all snowy now lol.

I do know this, when we go, I'm going to collect all I can and we're going to have a webpage for it, as there isn't one. I searched online for something for so long and couldn't find anything. We could have their first webpage lol. Hell, if someone runs the place we could get info from them and let them know about the page and they could put it on their flyers or something... more visits to us!

But on a lighter note, maybe we could make this our first over night deal that we open to the public, anyone who'd want to visit this place with us... then again I guess we'd have to have the directions down before taking strangers with us, they might get mad lol.

I was watching the Travel Channel (I think) the other day and it seems that lately all they've been showing is ghost shows. It was awesome! I watched four hours of ghost shows that day, and the last one I watched they showed the story on the Winchester Mansion that I want to visit, and they showed the video on the Oregon Vortex! I was pumped! So, I taped them both, and if I ever figure out how to transfer video from my VCR to my computer, I'll put them on the site!

Totally. Even though for that day they kind of kept showing the same shows over and over, and lately when I go to watch another episode of those shows they're usually the ones I seen. That kind of sucks. But it's still cool.
