For Halloween of course! Tis the time of year for these to be popping up all over the place, and I couldn't be happier!
I just noticed yesterday while I was coming home from work that the Hamilton County Fair Grounds are going to have a Haunted Trail this year, and I could see that they had already started working on it. So if you're around the Hamilton County, Ohio area, check that out, it might be cool!
So for this thread, I guess we could talk about our favorite haunted houses since obviously not everyone is going to be around your part of the world to go to ones that you could post.... so, any favorites of yours from the past years?

Yeah, we HAD one here for a few years called Night of Fright. It was one of the best I've ever been to. There was just so many great things about it. But the last year I went to it, which inevitably turned out to be the last year they were open, they got rid of a lot of stuff and it was only about half as long. All the good shit was gone and it almost sucked.
It burned down and now it's a Hotel 8. Blah. But no other Haunted House I've been to compares to that one. It was good stuff.

I finally got to go on a haunted hay ride last year and it was a lot of fun! I couldn't believe just how much they could do with it, but it was one of the better experiences I've had at a halloween haunted house.
This one is in Hamilton, OH and if you get to Hamilton to look for it there are signs usually everywhere. Just follow those. I don't know exactly where it's at, and I don't know it's name, but I plan on going back there this year.

And I just checked this out... it was an ad at the top of the forum here... it looks REALLY NEAT! If anyone's out in the Denver area... www.denverdig.com/TheDig/ParkSpoof/Entry.aspAlso, there's supposed to be a "Haunted Hospital" here in Cincinnati. It's supposed to be so scary that you have to sign a waiver before you go in, cause the ghosts can touch you in it, and apparently there's a trap door and all kinds of shit. It costs 25 bucks to go thru and if you make it all the way thru you get your money back. So they're serious about it. Apparently they also play subliminal messages in the music... I've never seen it, but I've heard a ton of people talk about it. I wanna go thru it, but NOOOOO, never seen it. Don't even know if it's real.

Thanks for posting the info on that that shows it's a hoax. I think you put it in Urban Legends... anyway...
Thea, I'd go so far as to TELL you to come up here one weekend this month to go to this haunted hay ride I went to in Hamilton, Ohio tonight. I went once last year and it was awesome! This year... yeah, it got better lol.
They did take a couple things out that I really liked, but for the most part it was the same with a few really cool new additions.
Basically it's a family thing, kids should be able to go thru it without getting scared. Hell, most of the "monsters" are kids with masks on and normal clothes lol.
And you will get scared. There's quite a few spots that'll make you scream or jump. Really cool stuff. And it's set up so well... you're just out in the middle of nowhere in this field on a tractor that sounds like it could break down at any minute, seriously lol.
But it's just overall, a very neat and well done haunted attraction for the whole family. I really enjoyed it and I plan to go back next year. By the end of the ride my hand was very much sore because my girlfriend had been squeezing it the whole time lol.
I don't want to say too much more, but I'll go ahead and rate it... and if you're in the area, I don't know the name of it, but it's on Berringer Road or Bellinger or soemthing like that. But if you head north on Main St. to where Meijer is, make a right at the light past Meijer. There's one at their gas station, the one after that. Go to the end of that street and you'll see a sign for it. Make a right and follow the signs. It's a great time and for 8 bucks it's totally worth it.
I'll give it 9 1/2 ghosts out of 10 because of the coolness it has. It's not so much scary, but very entertaining, and after all, isn't that what all of them strive to be?

Where's abouts is that? I might meet you there. Just tell me when you're going.
Also, Bobby Mackies is on the AA Highway, get offa that exit, I think it's exit 77, and go north on it. Bobby Mackies is about 2 miles or so offa 275 if I remember right. You'll see a UDF on the right and another gas station I think, and it's right down from that on the left. If you see downtown Cincinnati up ahead, you know you're going the right way lol.
But yeah, the ride was great and my hand is fine, thanks lol.

www.middletownhauntedtrail.com/index.htmlI'm not sure if this is the same stuff that I had visited a couple years ago just in another location, but the stuff that used to be in Middletown was great. Last year I tried going to it and it was closed. I don't know why, as it was always sponsored by a huge radio station and always had tons of people there, and it was one of the best I had ever been to. But this one looks really cool and I'm gonna try to get out there tonight or next weekend hopefully. Looks fun, especially the Estate. There's a description of each attraction they got, which there are three. But the story of the Estate, whether it's real or not, is a really good one!

Hardly, just made up to make it freaky before you get there. I walked thru that one, as that was the only one I went thru, and I waited a half an hour to go thru it and it only took us 9 minutes to go thru it.
If I never read the story it would've been a worthwhile attraction, as the setup for it and props and all that were absolutely great, but it came up short compared to the story. Real short. I'd go thru it again, and hopefully in the next couple years it'll get bigger and better, but for now it's an okay haunted house.
The other two they got though are great, and they are one of the leading haunted house attraction leaders in this area and for many miles around. Great stuff from them, so I expect the estate to get better in time.
Hell, on the way out there was a local radio station out there talking about the new estate attraction and how huge it was and I was like WTF after I went thru it. But it was cool. The story though makes it up bigger than it should.
